Negotiations Around Lake Sev Continue in Nerkhin Khndzoresk
Negotiations between the Azerbaijanis and the Armenian side regarding the Sev Lake area are ongoing. A new location has been designated for the talks—Nerkhin Khndzoresk. The arrangement was reached the day before. One of the reasons for this decision is that it is easier for the Azerbaijani side to reach Nerkhin Khndzoresk.
Village head Ervand Malunts confirmed the information in an interview with ‘Facts.info,’ but added that he does not possess details. “They are negotiating in Khndzoresk, but I am not aware of the particulars—I don’t know when and how,” said Malunts.
Deputy Mayor of Goris community, Menoa Hovsepyan, also confirmed that negotiations are continuing in Nerkhin Khndzoresk: “The negotiations have not finished, and there is no news yet.” In response to reports that the people of Syunik are arming themselves to be prepared for possible scenarios, Hovsepyan stated that the people of Syunik have never laid down their arms. “The people of Syunik have not been disarmed, so why would they arm themselves again? The people of Syunik have been armed since the start of the war; if the enemy is at our side, how can we disarm?”
Hovsepyan did not provide details about the course of the negotiations, stating that they are being conducted by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
