World's Oldest Actor Passes Away, Starred in Chaplin and Hitchcock Films

Norman Lloyd, the American actor, director, and producer, has passed away at the age of 106. The news was reported by Variety. Lloyd died at his home in Los Angeles, with the cause of death not specified.

According to oldest.org, he was the oldest living actor in the world, followed by 99-year-old Betty White and 98-year-old Joan Copeland.

Born in 1914, Lloyd began his career in 1923 in New York City. He appeared in films by Charlie Chaplin and Alfred Hitchcock. He gained greater recognition after the age of 60 when he starred in the NBC drama “St. Elsewhere” in the 1980s.

Lloyd's career spanned more than 80 years. His last role was in the 2015 comedy “The Age of Adaline.” He had appeared in over 60 films and television shows, and also worked as a director and producer.
