Possible Cause of Gastrointestinal Disease Outbreak in Sisian is Water Factor: Ministry of Health

Considering the concerns arisen among the population, the Ministry of Health informs that the probable cause of the outbreak of gastrointestinal infectious diseases recorded in the Sisian community of the Syunik province is the water factor.

During epidemiological investigations, it was revealed that the occurrences were preceded by a breakdown in the water supply system of the settlement, specifically a pipeline failure, fluctuations in pressure within the system, as well as heavy rainfall.

As a result of the rehabilitation works carried out, the accident has been rectified, and water disinfection is being conducted in a regular manner, in accordance with the requirements.
