Political Group Conducts Organized Media Operations Against the People from Within the State: Hovhannisyan

This morning, Azerbaijani armed forces attempted to conduct certain activities in one of the border areas of Syunik under the pretext of "border readjustments." However, after measures taken by Armenian units, the Azerbaijani soldiers halted their operations.

The political group that has made political claims is conducting organized media operations within our state, against our people, using this and similar circumstances. This was stated by Arthur Hovhannisyan, a member of the "My Step" faction, on his Facebook page.

“Starting from noon, media so-called ‘journalists’ affiliated with the Rob-Serc group, palace singers, and actors, as well as low-cost political and public figures, mayors, former regional governors, began to terrorize our people with media. The reality is that, as mentioned earlier, Azerbaijani armed forces attempted certain activities in one of the border areas of Syunik, but following the actions of Armenian units, they have ceased their operations.

The political group that has made political claims is conducting organized media operations within our state, against our people. Initially, the morally questionable website Newspress.am disseminated information about shootings and injuries, and then Hraparak.am published a photo from November 29, claiming that troops were allegedly moving into Syunik. Former region governor Vahe Hakobyan joined these claims through his Para.tv, along with the deputy mayor of Goris and others, spreading lies about the injured and numerous media resources and palace clowns, who are directly supported by remnants of the Rob-Serc regime.

After the denial of all this, the Dashnaks joined the fray with their so-called Yerkir.am, spreading lies about border tensions in Gegharkunik, which were also completely false. In short, the members of the group I mentioned are well aware that we are in a complicated situation in the post-war period and face numerous challenges before our state. They are attempting to create an atmosphere of fear and tension to gain political dividends. However, all of this has nothing to do with politics; it is a vivid example of anti-state activity. All the media resources and palace figures I mentioned are engaged in anti-state activities in our country.

During the war, this same group played the role of Azerbaijani-Turkish intelligence by spreading news about the border situation and troop movements, and today they are encroaching on our state and people, conversing with Aliyev. Any such behavior should receive the strictest assessment from the perspectives of law and morality,” the statement read.
