Karin Tonoyan: “Anti-national forces are proposing the Armenian people abandon national ideology”
Karin Tonoyan, founder-director of the Armenian Knight Educational Charitable Foundation, wrote on his Facebook page:
“The Armenian people have been carrying their 'Historical Burden'—the Armenian Question—as a strategic program into the third millennium. The traditional geopolitical and historical-ethnic factors of Armenia have not changed as we approach the threshold of the third millennium. Neither has the last nearly thousand-year enemy, which organized the Armenian Genocide and occupied around 90 percent of the Armenian homeland. The national ideology of Turkic-speaking nations—Pan-Turkism—is on the agenda, which means the annihilation of Armenia and the Armenian people.
And yet, despite this, today, at the threshold of the 21st century, anti-national forces are suggesting that the Armenian people abandon their national ideology and choose a new path for development. The Armenian national ideology is declared a false political category, even equated to fascism. In other words, the Armenian people are being offered to survive and act without a national ideology. Meanwhile, it is undeniable that those nations that have not been guided by national ideology have perished.
This Khurshudian approach is an absolute truth. Therefore, today it is more than imperative to build a state based on national values and ideology, where every coalition relationship should be constructed from the position of national interests, to the greatest extent possible.”
