Cameras Capture Brown Bears Living in Armenia's Forests

The Caucasian Biodiversity Reserve (CWR) cameras have recorded intriguing moments of brown bears living in Armenia's forests. Unique photographs were taken in the specially protected nature area of Vayots Dzor.

The brown bear is listed in Armenia's Red Book and is considered vulnerable worldwide. Brown bears often enter villages, damaging fruit orchards and beehives, becoming targets for locals.

It is worth noting that the Caucasian Biodiversity Reserve, covering approximately 30,000 hectares, is the only privately managed conservation area in the entire South Caucasus. This area, rich in unique biodiversity, operates under the supervision of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Values (FPWC).

The Caucasian Biodiversity Reserve includes around 10,000 hectares of protected territory and adjoins the Khosrov Forest State Reserve.
