Unexpectedly Received Verbal Offer to Write Resignation or Be Dismissed: Tigran Vahramyan
The Acting Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine, Tigran Vahramyan, has issued a statement in which he mentioned that he was unexpectedly offered to submit a resignation letter.
Below is his statement:
“Since the end of 2018, I have been appointed as the Acting Director of the Physiotherapy Institute (on Orbeli Street). During my leadership over the past 2.5 years, numerous reforms have been implemented, which can be attested to by both employees and patients. I have not received any remarks from my superiors regarding the work carried out. The medical institution has been in the process of privatization for over 20 years.
On April 28 of this year, very unexpectedly, I received a verbal offer to write a resignation letter from the position I hold or I would be dismissed as a poor manager by the directive of Garik Sargsyan, the head of the State Property Management Committee. In response to my surprised inquiry about the reasons, I was told that I was not entitled to be informed about the motives behind the decision. I requested some time to receive clarifications from health sector and other responsible officials. However, until now, I have not received any explanations regarding my dismissal and the future of the organization; instead, I have been dismissed from my position as director by the order of Garik Sargsyan starting May 3, without prior written notification and reasoning.
Realizing the role of the medical institution in the healthcare system, especially the necessity for the long-term rehabilitation of servicemen injured as a result of the war, I have appealed and will appeal all possible legal measures to restore legality and clarify the situation. I expect the support of those interested in the fate of the medical institution to prevent possible irreversible consequences for its future.”
