Journalist Nane Arzumanyan has approached the Human Rights Defender and informed that she has received personal threats from a number of fake and real users on social networks in connection with her professional activities.
Immediately after Nane Arzumanyan’s report, the Human Rights Defender personally contacted her, and then the staff followed up as well. The journalist conveyed details regarding the threats she received from fake and real users on social networks, targeting her after the video she filmed and published on May 9th at Yerablur. She has received personal threats, insults, and letters that degrade her dignity. She noted that family members have also been targeted, with her brother, who died in the war, being used as an object of exploitation.
According to N. Arzumanyan, this also pertains to the targeting of the mother of the deceased soldier visible in the published video. Nane Arzumanyan will also send those letters to the Human Rights Defender's office. The journalist mentioned that she will apply to the Police tomorrow morning and has requested the Defender to monitor the activities of law enforcement agencies.
Considering that, as the journalist mentioned in her report, the issue is related to her being targeted in connection with her professional activities, the Human Rights Defender will send a letter to the Police to keep the proceedings of the case under attention.
