Lavrov on Aliyev's Statements Regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor'
During a joint press conference with Ara Aivazyan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressed Aliyev's statements regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor':
“Our negotiations have not been focused solely on the three-party cooperation for unblocking economic ties. That has been one of the topics. As for the three-party joint actions at the level of deputy prime ministers, that mechanism was established by the decision of the Prime Minister of Armenia, and the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, following the meeting in Moscow on January 11. This mechanism entails agreements that can only be voluntary and based on mutual benefit. It in no way implies anything other than diplomatic agreements and solutions that will allow for the complete unblocking of economic ties. Any issue that may conflict with the agreements reached by the three leaders, of course, cannot be accepted as an alternative to what has been agreed upon.”
