Lavrov Lays Flowers at Tsitsernakaberd; Meeting Commences Next
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov today visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
"The minister laid a wreath at the memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide and placed flowers at the Eternal Flame," the statement said. He also watered the fir tree planted in his name back in 2007.
Acting Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived together at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building. A private meeting between Ara Aivazian and Sergey Lavrov has commenced.
The Russian Foreign Minister arrived in Armenia yesterday, on May 5. His meeting with his Armenian counterpart is scheduled for today, where a joint document signing is anticipated. As part of the working visit, a meeting with Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is also planned.
Sergey Lavrov will depart from Armenia to Azerbaijan.
