Car Veers Off Road, Rolls Into River; Driver Found Dead
At the 911 call center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a report was simultaneously received at the police duty unit that a "Honda CR-V" had veered off the road and rolled into the "Karkar" river, near the area known as the "ZhD" bridge, at the 1st kilometer of the Stepanakert-Askeran highway. This was reported by the Artsakh Emergency Situations Service.
Two operational duty groups from the rapid response special unit, led by the Director of the Emergency Service Mekhak Arzumanyan, along with units from the police system, headed by Police Chief Artem Harutyunyan, and the duty team of the "Ambulance Station" LLC, have rushed to the scene.
Rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations also provided assistance, and together they retrieved the vehicle from the river using rescue equipment. The driver, identified as L.A., a resident of Stepanakert, born in 1987, was found deceased.
The Artsakh Investigative Committee is conducting an investigation into the incident.
