Major Car Accident in Vayots Dzor Region: 'Gazelle' Turns into Metal Scrap, There Is One Fatality

A serious and tragic car accident occurred today in the Vayots Dzor region. At approximately 14:45, a cargo 'Gazelle' collided head-on with a MAN truck on the 127.1 km section of the Yerevan-Yerashkh-Meghri highway, reports shamshyan.com.

As a result of the crash, one person died at the scene, while two others were taken to the 'Yeghegnadzor' medical center with injuries.

Citizens were the first to assist the injured, followed by the rapid response team from the Vayots Dzor regional rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 242, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia regarding the incident. The police and investigation department are working to identify the drivers, the deceased, and the injured.
