Woman, 43, Who Broke the Glass Door of the Academy of Arts Found

Materials are being prepared in the investigative department of the Central Police Department regarding the incident of hooliganism that occurred on May 5 in Yerevan. Between 5:30 PM and 6:10 PM, a 43-year-old resident of Yerevan, Milena Karakhanyan, broke the glass doors of the Academy of Arts located at 36 Isahakyan Street, grossly violated public order for an extended period, and shouted obscenities.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Central Police Department discovered M. Karakhanyan through hot pursuit; she was brought to the police station, where, after providing a statement about the incident, she was released.

In connection with the incident, an expert examination was appointed by the investigator to determine the extent of the damage caused to the academy.

Yesterday, in an interview with Tert.am, an officer present at the scene reported that the woman, who was not in a sober state, had broken the entrance door of the Yerevan State Academy of Arts. The academy's caretaker also provided further details: “The children were finishing their classes and were going home when suddenly a woman came and began breaking the glass. After breaking it, she was throwing the pieces inside, injuring herself in the process. We called an ambulance, but we couldn’t stop her to provide assistance; she just ran away,” he stated.
