We Urge Marukyan to Be Clear When Speaking About the Chief of the General Staff: Asatryan

Samvel Asatryan, the head of the Information Department of the Armed Forces of Armenia, has urged Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" parliamentary faction, to be clear when discussing the Chief of the General Staff, Artak Davtyan.

“Marukyan has made baseless accusations against the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Artak Davtyan, during a press briefing with journalists. The deputy's remarks, framed in 'ifs,' are so unfounded that there is no need to address them; however, we urge him to be clear and precise when speaking about the Chief of the General Staff,” he wrote.

According to him, the deputy and some members of his faction simply do not have a good understanding of military affairs.

It is noteworthy that during a press briefing with journalists yesterday at the National Assembly, Enlightened Armenia leader Edmon Marukyan stated: "If today’s Chief of Staff is among those responsible for the April war, and according to the report, he is among the culprits, then he should not be the Chief of Staff. This is an important signal for me that we do not have an impartial investigation in this regard, and whoever should not be blamed during this time will be blamed while others from the opposing camp will be implicated."
