The Decision of the RPA-‘Homeland’ Alliance Was Not Easily Made: Taron Margaryan in Second Place on the List

The newspaper ‘Hraparak’ reports that the decision of the RPA-‘Homeland’ alliance was not easily made. Both within the RPA and Arthur Vanetsyan’s party, this decision has not been unanimously accepted. Moreover, according to our information, after the announcement of the decision, three members of ‘Homeland’ submitted their resignations. Although three is not a significant number for a party with over seven thousand members.

Party spokesperson Sos Hakobyan stated, ‘I do not have such data; if any resignations have been submitted in any area that we have not received yet, I have no information.’ However, he did not deny that there have been discontent within the party regarding the alliance with the RPA. He noted, ‘It was expected that ‘Homeland’ would participate separately, but there have been various communications with both Yerevan and regional territorial offices, and everyone, for the most part, has understood the reasons behind this decision.’ The list will be headed by Arthur Vanetsyan, with Taron Margaryan in second place.
