General Seyran Sargsyan has been confined to a wheelchair for a long time. He returned to Armenia after undergoing treatment in Germany months ago, but soon his health deteriorated again, and it was revealed that he was developing gangrene in the knee area.

Doctors recommended a complete amputation of the leg; however, Armen Charchyan, the director of the Izmirlian Medical Center, decided against this course of action and managed to prevent the disease from progressing through a complex operation.

Sargsyan is now confined to a wheelchair and cannot walk independently, requiring long-term treatment. Reports indicate that he has lost so much weight that he has become unrecognizable, having lost nearly half of his body weight,” writes the newspaper.
