Rustam Muradov Likely to Be Recalled from Artsakh: His Contract is Expiring

The newspaper "Zhoghnevour" has learned that on May 13, the six-month term of the employment contract of Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, the commander of the Russian military contingent in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, will come to an end. This means that another Russian military officer may soon take his place.

The matter is that, according to the contract, upon the expiration of six months, Russian authorities have the right to change the commander. However, Russian military expert Vladimir Yevseyev told "Zhoghnevour" that, in any case, the rotation is not a mandatory requirement.

The military expert noted that Rustam Muradov has been awarded a medal in Russia for his services to the homeland, which suggests that they are satisfied with his work, and it is possible that his term may be extended again.

Additionally, interesting information regarding his appointment has emerged in the Russian press. Specifically, it is emphasized that, besides Muradov, there were other candidates as well, and he was reportedly discussed under a microscope. The General Staff presented Rustam Muradov to the Minister of Defense, who then made this suggestion to Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, despite this, it is likely that he will be recalled from Artsakh,” the newspaper writes.
