Political Authority Instructs Not to Disturb Generals: 'Zhoghovurd'

According to the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, a directive has been issued to the investigative bodies of Armenia not to disturb military personnel, including generals, and to leave them undisturbed. It is well known that many have come under the scrutiny of investigative bodies following the war, and there are criminal cases involving numerous generals as witnesses or suspects.

In this phase, according to the information from 'Zhoghovurd', the political authority has decided to leave them undisturbed and not to carry out any investigative actions. This appears to be a strategy ahead of the early parliamentary elections, aiming to sway military personnel to their side and secure necessary votes.

'Zhoghovurd' had previously reported on April 14 that the process of subordinating small and medium-caliber military personnel continues, led by Artak Davtyan, head of the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. At that time, military personnel, particularly unit commanders, were being summoned from the General Staff with promises of resolving their issues, such as forgiving loans or pardoning previous mistakes, and assisting them in obtaining interest-free loans or acquiring land at low cadastral prices. Currently, it seems that efforts are being made to attract military personnel who have come under the focus of investigative bodies.
