‘Our program will free 2 million people from up to 3 million in debt.’ What does Tsarukyan propose?
The people are currently fully immersed in a swamp, struggling, and we must take steps to provide opportunities for relief. This opinion was expressed by the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Gagik Tsarukyan, during a meeting with young people wanting to join the party.
“2 million 200 thousand people in Armenia are under debt and our program will free 2 million people from up to 3 million in debt. A person should not lose their house, property, or land,” Tsarukyan stated.
Commenting on existing issues, Tsarukyan noted that merging ministries and reducing the Ministry of Agriculture was not appropriate. According to Tsarukyan, all of Armenia is currently engaged in agriculture and land cultivation, yet the ministry is being closed.
Additionally, he pointed out that pensions have remained the same despite the noticeable inflation in the country. Discussing the education sector issues concerning young people, Tsarukyan mentioned that many young individuals drop out of universities due to rental costs.
The BHK leader also noted that in many European countries, there is a law where if a student is accepted and has the knowledge, the state pays for their rent. After graduating, when the student enters the workforce, they pay back the rental amount to the state within five years.
As for the scholarships for students, Tsarukyan remarked that for 30 years, it has been 5,000 drams, and it needs to be increased. It is important to note that Tsarukyan has said he will go alone to the snap elections on June 20.
