License Plates Stolen from Defense Ministry Officer's Car with a Note Left Behind
In recent days, there have been incidents of license plate theft in various administrative districts of Yerevan, where the thief or thieves leave a Telegram address on the vehicles after taking the plates, expecting the car owner to contact them for a ransom in exchange for the return of the plates.
According to reports from shamshyan.com, a similar incident occurred in Yerevan on May 4. A resident of Nubarashen, 38-year-old Sargis S., reported to the Erebuni police department that unknown individuals had stolen the license plates from his parked Mercedes in the yard of their building, leaving a note with the Telegram address “Nikol 707.”
According to the website's information, Sargis S., who is a serviceman at the Armenian Ministry of Defense's military unit N, incurred damages amounting to approximately 150,000 drams, and the thieves demanded 100 USD for the return of the stolen plates.
