Vaccination Process Against COVID-19 Fully Launched in Artsakh

The vaccination process against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues in the Republic of Artsakh. This was announced by the Ministry of Health of Artsakh. Today, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Artsakh, Mikhail Hayriyan, visited healthcare facilities and monitored the vaccination process.

The Russian peacekeeping forces have provided the first large batch of the "Sputnik V" vaccine to Artsakh, consisting of 15,000 doses, which will vaccinate 7,500 citizens. To date, a total of 89 citizens have been vaccinated, with 74 of them vaccinated today in the city of Stepanakert.

The implementation of vaccinations is expected to lead to a reduction in severe cases of COVID-19 and eliminate mortality rates. The first phase includes individuals aged 65 and older, those aged 16-64 with chronic illnesses, residents and staff of social protection facilities, and healthcare workers. The second phase will include teachers, police officers, and other public sector employees.

Vaccinations are performed on a voluntary basis, but citizens should be aware that this is a serious vaccine against the prevention of coronavirus. Individuals who have previously contracted the virus can also get vaccinated. The vaccinations are administered in two doses with a 21-day interval. Subsequently, citizens will receive a certificate for the preventive vaccinations against the novel coronavirus, which indicates the dates of the first and second doses and their personal details.
