Mourinho to Head AS Roma

José Mourinho has commented on his agreement with AS Roma. The Portuguese specialist will take over as head coach this summer, replacing compatriot Paulo Fonseca.

“I thank the Friedkin family for choosing me to lead such a great team. I am grateful to be part of their vision for the future of the club. After meetings with the club's owner and director Tiago Pinto, I immediately understood the seriousness of AS Roma's ambitions. Such ambitions and drive have always motivated me. Together, we want to build a successful project in the coming years.

The incredible passion of AS Roma’s fans convinced me to accept this job. I look forward to the start of the next season. For now, I wish Paulo Fonseca all the best. Onward, AS Roma,” Mourinho’s statement was quoted by AS Roma’s press service.

Mourinho's contract with AS Roma is set until June 30, 2024.
