Interesting Picture of Prime Minister’s Non-Election: "Hraparak"
During a special session of the National Assembly yesterday, a rather remarkable picture was recorded regarding the voting on the non-election of the Prime Minister. Although faction leader Lilit Makunts announced that "My Step" has decided to abstain from voting in order to prevent Pashinyan from being elected Prime Minister, which is the only prerequisite for dissolving the parliament and holding snap elections, the voting results were as follows: 1 in favor, 3 against, and 75 abstained. It turned out that Narek Ghahramanyan from "My Step," who was the Deputy Governor of Syunik before becoming a deputy, either did not understand the simple instruction well, or does not want the parliament to be dissolved, or perhaps wants to show his infinite love for Pashinyan. The "against" votes came from Arman Babajanyan, Babken Tunyan, and Yeghishe Solomonyan from the "Arakelutyun" party. However, what is interesting is that although the Chairman of the National Assembly announced the recorded figures from the podium and then closed the session, the results of the non-election on the parliament's official website were incorrect—showing 78 abstentions and 2 against, while in the corrections section it was edited to indicate that Ghahramanyan and Tunyan had abstained. Sergey Bagratyan, who was separated from the Prosperous Armenia party, also voted like those from "My Step," and he may find himself in the ruling list.
