Active Discussions on Forming a Coalition with the Second President, Says Sagatelyan
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) will make a statement regarding its participation in the elections, the framework for that participation, and upcoming plans within the next three days. This was stated by ARF Executive Body representative Ishkhan Sagatelyan in an interview with 'Faktinfo'.
In response to a question about circulating information suggesting that the ARF is planning to participate in the elections through a coalition with the second president, Sagatelyan said, 'Currently, there are active discussions on forming a coalition with the second president, the final results of which we will announce by the 10th of this month.'
When asked whether participating with separate coalitions would lead to division within the opposition, given that parties affiliated with the Armenian National Congress (ANC) would become competitors in the elections, Sagatelyan stated that the opposition has one common target: the ruling authority. 'For us, representatives of the opposition field are not competitors, and we will not be fighting against them, as we all have one shared target—the person occupying the Prime Minister's chair and the ruling group. True opposition parties are not foes for us; of course, not everyone is a competitor, but our fight will not be with them. Our target is the current ruling power,' said Sagatelyan.
When asked about the effectiveness of the struggle—whether it would be better to participate in the elections with separate coalitions or as a united front—his interlocutor mentioned that the ARF's viewpoint has always been that the opposition should participate in the elections as a comprehensive front.
