Russian State Media Ignoring Azerbaijan's Complaints

The Russian news agency RIA Novosti has come under fire from the Azerbaijani media landscape and social media users for referring to Arayik Harutyunyan as the president of Artsakh. “The president of Artsakh stated that he had been questioned as a witness in a case of constitutional order disruption,” reported RIA Novosti. Azerbaijani media and social media users, unable to reconcile with the existence of the Republic of Artsakh, label Harutyunyan as a “leader of terrorists.”

However, as a spokesperson for the mediator and security guarantor of the Artsakh people, RIA Novosti is well aware of the essence of the situation and does not distort the facts, reports infoteka24. Previously, the Russian side had been accommodating the feelings of its inadequate and extremely aggressive “partners,” but it has now made it clear that the cheap provocations of Azerbaijanis in Artsakh and attacks on Moscow are extremely inappropriate.

It is worth recalling that the day before, one of Aliyev's propagandists attempted to distort the text of the tripartite statement, claiming that Stepanakert would come under Azerbaijani jurisdiction and that Russian peacekeepers would be withdrawn from the region. This way, they undermine Russia's authority and image as a guarantor of the conditions of the tripartite statement. Meanwhile, anti-Russian protests with hostile slogans are taking place in Baku, and law enforcement is taking no action to disperse such activities.

Additionally, the Azerbaijani military has repeatedly attacked the villages of Artsakh, including Stepanakert, which is also seen as an attempt to undermine the peacekeeping mission.
