No Incidents, Insults, or Loud Shouting Occurred at the Civil Contract Party Office
Vahagn Aleksanyan, the spokesman for the Civil Contract Party and an MP, reacted strongly to a publication alleging that a brawl took place at the party office involving various party members, including President of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Corps Sasun Mikayelyan and Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan. He called it sheer nonsense and the product of someone's sick imagination.
"During this period, the Civil Contract Party is engaged in pre-election preparation work, and hundreds of people come and go to the party's office daily. There have been no incidents, insults, or loud shouting at the Civil Contract Party office; there have only been several working meetings," Aleksanyan emphasized.
In our Q&A session below, we asked:
- Mr. Aleksanyan, was Sasun Mikayelyan in the office today, did he participate in any meeting?
- Yes, yes, Sasun Mikayelyan was in the office with other representatives from the Kotayk region and other regions, as well as representatives from Yerevan's administrative areas. The party is completely and fully engaged in the pre-election work.
- But was there any incident, insults, or fights involving him and Papikyan?
- Absolutely not, absolutely not. In general, there are no confrontations or clashes within the Civil Contract Party, no matter how much this may disappoint some media outlets.
- What do you think gave rise to such publications?
- I assume that those who made that publication, perhaps with some commission, would very much like for such things to happen.
The media outlet also attempted to obtain comments from Mikayelyan and Papikyan but was unsuccessful in reaching them.
