I Hope There Will Be No Attempts to Violate Agreements: Pashinyan

The candidate for Prime Minister, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, nominated by the "My Step" faction, reminded during his speech from the National Assembly podium that the snap elections are happening as a result of agreements reached with the President of the Republic of Armenia, the "Prosperous Armenia" and "Enlightened Armenia" factions.

“During this time, there have been many discussions and speculations about the possibility that at some point, certain forces will try to develop a different scenario in the second round. I have previously stated from this podium that if such attempts are made to violate the agreements, we have a ready solution: in that case, the "My Step" faction will choose a Prime Minister,” said Pashinyan, expressing hope that nevertheless, attempts to violate the agreements will not be made.

It should be noted that according to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, snap elections can only be held if, after the Prime Minister's resignation, the parliament does not elect a Prime Minister twice in a row. In that case, the parliament is dissolved, and parliamentary snap elections are scheduled.
