Murder in Yeghgnadzor: Gunfire Reported at Prominent Winery; 29-Year-Old Grandson of Owner Killed
A murder involving the use of firearms occurred in the Vayots Dzor region on May 1. At approximately 21:40, the Yeghgnadzor medical center alerted the Yeghgnadzor police department that a citizen with a gunshot wound had been admitted.
According to Shamshyan.com, the injured individual subsequently died after failing to regain consciousness.
The police and investigators determined that the deceased had been taken to the hospital from the territory of the ‘Getnatun’ winery in Yeghgnadzor city. Nearby on the street, a Toyota Camry with the license plate 092 QQ 02 was discovered, which, according to preliminary information, had been used by the perpetrator to arrive at the winery and fire shots at Vahé Mkrtychyan, 29, using a hunting double-barreled shotgun.
Shortly after, the suspect voluntarily presented himself to the Yeghgnadzor police department. At the crime scene, police and investigators found two mobile phones, traces of blood, and the murder weapon.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident. Several citizens gathered at the scene indicated that the victim was the nephew of Nairi Baghdasaryan, who had presented himself to the police on suspicion of murder, and was also the grandson of the winery owner, Agasi Baghdasaryan.
