Six Young Basketball Players Killed in Road Accident in Stavropol
Six children lost their lives in a tragic accident when a minibus collided with a truck in the Stavropol region. This has been reported by Interfax.
According to preliminary data from the investigation, six children have died, while another twelve, including eight children, have been hospitalized.
As per the traffic police, the children were traveling by bus from Volgograd to Cherkessk for a sports competition. In total, there were 18 people on the bus: 14 children and four accompanying adults.
According to TASS, the 18 passengers of the minibus were female basketball players from the Volgograd No. 2 Sports School.
Oleg Matytsin, the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation, has expressed condolences to the families of the young basketball players who lost their lives in the accident.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
