Azerbaijani Authorities' Latest Provocative Actions: Artsakh Parliament President
The head of the Institute of Democracy and Human Rights of Azerbaijan, Ahmed Sahidov's tweets are a continuation of the Azerbaijani authorities' provocative actions. This was stated in a message by the President of the Artsakh National Assembly, Arthur Tovmasyan.
“Dear compatriots, Ahmed Sahidov's tweets are a continuation of the Azerbaijani authorities' provocations. The notorious statement of November 10, 2020, lacked any provision regarding the transfer of Stepanakert to the control of the Azerbaijani army. Today, the guarantors of the security of the Artsakh people are the Russian peacekeeping forces and the Artsakh army. Artsakh cannot be under any vertical subordination within Azerbaijan. We are confident that under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group, we will achieve complete freedom within the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast borders.
The leaders of the co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group also realize that the question of the status of Artsakh is urgent for the safety guarantee of the Artsakh people. Without security and a clear status, Artsakh will suffer depopulation. We fully believe that we are a part of the civilized world and, as an independent state, we are willing to sign mutually beneficial cooperation agreements not only with the countries of the region but also with all peace-loving nations. The alternative to a peaceful negotiation process is war. We propose a dignified peace agenda.”
