Armenian Parliament of Artsakh Responds to U.S. President's Recognition of Genocide

The National Assembly of Artsakh has responded to the statement made by the U.S. president regarding the recognition of the Armenian Genocide. In a statement issued by the Public Relations and Media Department of the Artsakh Parliament, they said:

“We welcome with deep gratitude U.S. President Joe Biden's use of the term Armenian Genocide in his April 24th message, whereby he effectively recognized the 106-year-old crime against the Armenian people. This step by the U.S. president is regarded as a restoration of historical justice and truth, reaffirming human rights and values as well as humanitarian principles. We are confident that such statements will prevent new genocides.”

“Until now, judicial claims for property rights by stateless Armenians living in the Diaspora were not satisfied in the U.S. under the pretext of the non-recognition of the genocide. We believe that the rights of our compatriots in the Diaspora have also been restored. Despite the rejection and condemnation of Biden's statement by the military-political authorities of Turkey and Azerbaijan, it is already a reality and nothing will change that.”
