Wreckage of Missing Indonesian Submarine Found Near Bali Shores, No Survivors Among 53 Crew Members

The Indonesian submarine that went missing near the shores of Bali has been found sunk. This was announced by the country's Navy, as reported by AFP. The search team discovered debris from the KRI Nanggala 402, including items from inside the submarine, which had depleted its oxygen supply.

Authorities stated that the German-made vessel had enough oxygen for only three days after losing power. The deadline for rescue efforts expired early Saturday morning. Among the items found were prayer mats belonging to crew members, parts of the torpedo tubes, as well as containers filled with fuel and lubricants.

It is worth mentioning that the submarine was one of five in the Indonesian fleet that disappeared during military exercises with torpedoes near the island on Wednesday. There were 53 people on board the vessel. Authorities have not offered any possible explanations for the submarine's sudden disappearance and have not commented on questions regarding whether the vessel was overloaded or not. No official theories have been presented regarding the incident.
