Alen Simonyan Hopes to Replace the Speaker of the National Assembly as Discontent Grows in CP

The newspaper "Jamanak" reports: "Some time ago, during a meeting of the Political Council of the "Civil Contract" party, various issues related to early parliamentary elections were discussed, and the topic of the next Speaker of the National Assembly also came up. According to information from "Jamanak," there is significant discontent within the Civil Contract party towards the current Speaker, Ararat Mirzoyan. He is perceived as a passive observer who is no longer by their side, does not support the team, and does not counter the political opponents, but instead waits for something or someone that is unclear.

In this context, according to our information, the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, stated during the discussions of the party council that he is effectively performing the duties of the Speaker in parliament, neutralizing political opponents, and thus he should be the next Speaker of the National Assembly.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has not responded in any way, and many have the impression that Simonyan's words have aligned with the Prime Minister's sentiments, as recently Pashinyan has been conducting almost all meetings with Simonyan.

Ararat Mirzoyan has remained non-communicative and has not reacted in any way to the actual accusations directed at him. The newspaper "Jamanak" attempted to clarify the information with the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly, A. Simonyan, who declared: "This issue has not been discussed; moreover, we will discuss such issues after the elections."
