Aliyev's Statement on the Zangezur Corridor

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev visited the settlement of Minjivan in the Zangelan district (formerly known as Kovsakan). According to Minval.az, Aliyev stated that a railway has previously passed through Zangelan, and from his perspective, the area is geographically part of the Western Zangezur region.

"Western Zangezur is our historical land, and the Zangezur corridor will traverse that land. This way, the main part of Azerbaijan will be connected by rail to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic," the Azerbaijani president declared. He added, "The construction of the railway has already been initiated, starting from Horadiz and passing through the Zangezur corridor."
