Why Boris Avagyan has come under the radar of the NSS
«Hraparak» newspaper reports: “Why has the former deputy head of the Artsakh emergency situation service, Boris Avagyan, come under the radar of the National Security Service (NSS)? Why was he invited to the NSS? In response to our question yesterday, Avagyan stated that he is not aware of the reasons.
He recounted that after a well-known discussion regarding prisoners and his dismissal, an NSS employee contacted him by phone and invited him to the NSS around 8 PM. However, he arrived a bit late and was told by the NSS that it was not a suitable time to meet.
His lawyers have stated that he will appear after receiving a notification. However, until now, he has not received any notification or new invitation. “Probably, I am no longer needed by them, and I do not even know why I was summoned,” he said.
It is worth noting that following criticisms of the Armenian authorities during the discussion about prisoners, information circulated that Colonel Avagyan is being guided by certain opposition circles or that he has a desire to enter politics, which is why he is attempting to gain publicity through criticism. However, Avagyan denied these rumors, stating that he has no desire to engage in politics now or in the coming months, and that he will not be seen with any political forces.”
