Why Araik Harutyunyan Was Urgently Summoned to Moscow

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "According to our information, yesterday the President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, was urgently summoned to Moscow for discussions. Russian special services are concerned about Araik Harutyunyan's obedient behavior towards the Armenian authorities and will try to 'bring him to his senses.' We were told that he cannot be officially received because he is the leader of an unrecognized republic, but the President of Artsakh, who is in Moscow on a private visit, will have meetings with representatives of the special services, and they will make it clear to him that fulfilling every desire and instruction of Prime Minister Pashinyan does not align with the interests of Artsakh.

Our sources stated that A. Harutyunyan is constrained due to financial dependence on the Armenian authorities, particularly regarding the funds allocated for housing construction.

We requested a comment on the news of the Artsakh President's trip to Moscow from his press secretary, Lusine Avanesyan. She noted, 'At this moment, I have nothing to say.' We tried to clarify whether she was denying that he had left or confirming it; she replied, 'There is no need for commentary,' effectively confirming the fact of the visit.

When asked if this was a secret visit, which is why there is no commentary, she repeated, 'I am not commenting on anything at this moment.'"
