The US Officially Removes Turkey from F-35 Fighter Jet Production Program
The United States has sent an official notification to Turkey regarding its removal from the F-35 fighter jet production program due to Ankara's purchase of the Russian S-400 missile defense systems. This was reported by the Anadolu Agency, citing a source in the Pentagon.
The United States has canceled the memorandum of understanding on F-35 production that Turkey signed in January 2007. The memorandum was also signed by the other seven partners in the F-35 project: the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, Denmark, Canada, and Norway.
