Soldier Held for 53 Days in Captivity Arrested by Military Police, Refuses to Serve
A soldier who spent 53 days in captivity and returned home has been arrested by the Military Police. Narek Nersisyan, a conscript from the city of Vagharshapat, is facing a dilemma, according to the newspaper "Zhoghovurd".
On December 14, 2020, he returned to Armenia along with 44 other soldiers but was sent back to active service. On April 15, 19-year-old Narek Nersisyan voluntarily left his military unit and personally went to the Ministry of Defense to demand answers regarding the treatment he and his fellow soldiers received. However, the ministry sent him back, stating they could not provide answers to his questions.
Following this, the Military Police arrested Nersisyan for leaving his unit without authorization.
