Slovakia to Expel Three Employees of the Russian Embassy

Three employees of the Russian embassy in Bratislava are to leave Slovakia within a week. This was announced by the country's Prime Minister Eduard Heger, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“In accordance with the current geopolitical situation, as well as the circumstances in the Czech Republic, three employees of the Russian embassy in Bratislava must depart from Slovak territory within seven days,” said Heger.

Earlier, Slovakia's Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok stated that decisive measures would be taken, in solidarity with the Czech Republic, where explosions occurred in 2014.

It was previously reported that Czech authorities had recently decided to expel 18 employees of the Russian embassy, accusing them of being officers of the Russian military intelligence and being involved in the organization of the explosions that took place in a munitions depot in the village of Vrbetice in 2014. This decision has been followed by reciprocal measures from both countries.
