Lockdown Declared in Turkey for 82 Hours

The Turkish authorities have declared a curfew from today until Sunday due to the rising spread of coronavirus in the country. This has been reported by the 'Milliyet' newspaper, citing the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Considering that April 23 is a public holiday - National Independence and Children's Day, the restriction on going out will start on April 22 at 19:00 and will end on April 26 at 05:00," states the official document.

During the curfew, Turkish citizens will be allowed to leave their homes only between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM for essential activities such as grocery shopping, visiting pharmacies or doctors, and walking their dogs.
