I Didn't Want to Say It, But I Have to Say It: Senor Hasratyan
I didn't want to say it, but I have to say it: This is what former spokesperson of the Artsakh Defense Army, Senor Hasratyan, wrote on his Facebook page.
He particularly noted: "I am watching the footage of police forces deliberately detaining the participants of the protest in Yerevan and Syunik, who were part of the war yesterday, and I involuntarily recall how just a few months ago, the same guys being detained were defending their entrusted positions at the front lines of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. I also remember how, during the same period, only a few dozen out of the hundreds of police officers who were moved to Shushi demonstrated a willingness to go to the combat zone, while a significant majority refused to go to the frontline to perform their duty in defending the homeland. (By the way, during the meeting on October 4, 2020, at the Palace of Culture in Shushi, dozens of police officers were killed or injured by a missile launched by the enemy.)
Comparing the behavior of both the detainees and the detainers today, I want to say: boys, you had the opportunity to fulfill your duties with the same diligence during combat operations, standing side by side with those guys, rather than in the streets of Yerevan or Agarak, while people are fighting in the battlefields of yesterday, perhaps to mitigate the consequences of the defeat you contributed to with your conduct... Give people the opportunity to defend the dignity of the nation, which is also your dignity."
