57-Year-Old Man Arrested in Connection with Murder on Minibus

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported that a 57-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a murder that occurred on a minibus in Yerevan.

According to the information provided by the Committee's Information and Public Relations Department, various investigative and procedural measures conducted in the criminal case handled by the Yerevan city investigative department of the Central and Norq-Marash administrative districts have revealed several details concerning the murder incident on April 14, 2021.

It was established that around 10:10 AM on that day, the 57-year-old resident of Artashat city got into an argument with a 39-year-old resident of Yerevan regarding a remark about not wearing a mask, during which he inflicted knife wounds to the man's chest, unlawfully and intentionally taking his life.

On April 20, 2021, the 57-year-old man presented himself to the prosecuting authority and provided a confession. Based on sufficient evidence obtained, the man has been charged under Article 104, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (murder), and detention has been chosen as a preventive measure. The investigation is ongoing.
