That 'Park' is Evidence of State-Supported Anti-Armenianism and Azerbaijani Genocidal Policies: Tatoyan to Al Arabia
The Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia has released an interview of Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan with the global Arab television Al Arabia regarding the 'exhibition-park' that was opened in Baku on April 12, 2021, related to the 2020 September-November war.
“It is evident from the videos and photographs of the ‘park’ that the exhibition was made using mannequins of Armenian servicemen (wax display) to exacerbate and promote anti-Armenianism and enmity, publicly degrading the memory of those killed in the war, the missing and captives, and infringing upon the rights and dignity of their families. The ‘park’ also displays scenes related to Armenian captives. This action is particularly condemnable given that captives—both servicemen and civilians—continue to be held illegally in Azerbaijan, in gross violation of international human rights standards.
It is clear that this sensitive issue causes mental pain and suffering to the families of the missing and captives and to the Armenian society in general. The ongoing monitoring by the Defender's staff has highlighted posts on Azerbaijani social networks regarding the exhibition that only welcome and encourage the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan, with comments indicating obvious anti-Armenianism and hostility. It is evident that this 'park' is proof of state-supported anti-Armenianism and Azerbaijani genocidal policies,” stated Arman Tatoyan.
