Russian Aircraft in the Airspace over the Baltic Sea

NATO's Allied Air Command has released a statement indicating that fighter jets stationed in Estonia, Lithuania, and Poland have repeatedly taken to the skies in an effort to intercept Russian fighter jets, bombers, and reconnaissance aircraft in the Baltic Sea airspace. This information was reported by РИА Новости.

“Our systems have detected unknown flying objects in the Baltic Sea's airspace. In response, the alliance has deployed fighter jets to the danger zone to intercept and identify the approaching aircraft,” the statement read.

NATO emphasized that identifying certain aircraft has proven impossible and that no flight plans had been submitted, which poses risks especially to civil aviation.
