Air Alert and Siren Activation in 5 Regions: Ministry of Emergency Situations Conducts Training Exercises
Training exercises continue across the regions of the Republic. Specialists from the Tavush regional rescue service conducted training sessions in the communities of Agavnavank and Debedavan secondary schools on the topic of "Rules of Conduct for the Population in Case of 'Air Alert' Signals," focusing on issues related to emergencies, civil defense, and first aid.
In the Agavnavank area, an exercise was conducted on the theme of "Implementation of Population Warning, Sheltering, and Evacuation Operations." In the village of Voskahat in Armavir Province and at a secondary school, a training session was held on "Organizing Shelter in Case of 'Air Alert' Signals." The electric siren of Voskahat community was tested and was found to be operational. The sheltering of the community's population, teaching staff of the secondary school, and students was organized.
The head of the community examined the condition of the basements of residential buildings and provided relevant instructions and recommendations. Following this, Lieutenant Colonel J. Barseghyan, head of the Crisis Management Center of the Armavir regional rescue service, spoke about the rules of conduct for the population in case of 'Air Alert' signals and 'Strong Earthquake' situations.
A staff training exercise on “Organizing Population Protection in Case of the Collapse of the Aparan Reservoir Dam” took place at the administrative building of the Armavir regional administration. Participants included the officer corps of the Armavir regional rescue service, the regional emergency situation commission, the staff of the regional administration, the evacuations commission, and the mayors of the communities of Aparan, Gay, Hovtamej, Khoronk, and Haytagh.
Fire and rescue service personnel from the Talin and Aparan brigades in Aragatsotn province conducted lectures on "Rules of Conduct During an Earthquake" at Aparan No. 1, Kakavadzor, Nerkinn Bazmaberd, Parpi, and Bazmabuyr secondary schools, as well as at kindergartens in Aparan and Parpi.
In the community of Pokr Mantash in Shirak province, the rescue service organized an exercise on “Organizing Shelter in Case of 'Air Alert' Signals.” The staff and students of the secondary school were evacuated and sheltered in the school's basement. The total area of the basement is sufficient to accommodate the staff and students of the school.
An assessment of the condition of the basements of residential houses in the community was conducted, and the community leadership and residents were advised to rearrange the available belongings and resources in the basements to use the space more effectively for sheltering. Additionally, to make the air alert signal audible throughout the community, it was suggested to acquire a more powerful siren or install another one.
