Some Syunians Refuse to Attend Medal Ceremony with Sasun Mikayelyan

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "On April 15, the President of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, Sasun Mikayelyan, visited the Syunik region. He held a meeting with the Governor of Syunik and the heads of the territorial branches of the Yerkrapah. Following this, he awarded medals to several Syunians who served the homeland during their participation in the recent war.

Among those awarded, was also the Governor of Syunik, Melikset Poghosyan, who has faced suspicions regarding his participation in the 44-day war. We were informed that some participants in the war from Syunik, who were nominated for the award, have refused to attend the ceremony and receive a medal from Sasun Mikayelyan, thus expressing their attitude towards the government that "handed over Artsakh". This information was confirmed to us from Syunik, including by one of the individuals who declined the medal, who requested anonymity. He mentioned that there are a few others like him who also declined the medals and did not attend the meeting."
