Australians of Greek and Assyrian Descent to Join Armenians in March on April 24
Australian Assyrian, Greek, and Armenian organizations will hold a joint march in Sydney and Melbourne on April 24. This information was reported by the Armenian National Committee of Australia.
These organizations are calling upon their compatriots to participate in the march and to demonstrate to Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his government that they are not divided peoples, but that they are fighting together for common justice.
It is worth noting that in February 2020, the organizations of the three peoples united in the Joint Justice Initiative. The results came swiftly, as around 40 Members of Parliament in Australia have already expressed their support for this initiative.
Moreover, it is observed that Assyrian and Greek organizations abroad have consistently participated in demonstrations organized by the Armenian community. Prominent figures of Armenian descent, such as the renowned journalist Ara Toranyan in France, actively advocate for the recognition of the genocide against Assyrians and Greeks, earning the respect and gratitude of these communities through their actions.
