Exemption Offered to Citizens of Draft Age Who Have Not Completed Their Studies
The National Assembly has fully adopted a legislative initiative presented by the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction in its second reading, proposing to grant exemptions to citizens of draft age who have not completed their vocational education programs.
The bill was introduced in the parliament's second reading by faction member Anna Kostanyan. She stated, "It is proposed to amend Article 22 of the law by adding a new Part 5.1. Accordingly, a citizen who has not completed their studies in a vocational educational program, who is currently in their final year and subject to mandatory military service, will be granted an exemption until the completion of their studies, until the day they turn 20, by a decision of the Government of Armenia."
The legislative initiative was fully adopted with 103 votes in favor and 2 abstentions.
