Mi-2 Helicopter Makes Hard Landing in Kuban: Casualty Reported
The pilot of a Mi-2 helicopter that made a hard landing in Kuban has been reported dead. This was confirmed by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations to TASS.
“The helicopter’s hard landing occurred near the 52nd kilometer of the Krasnodar-Novorossiysk highway. The pilot, born in 1960, was killed in the incident. Emergency response services are on site,” stated the ministry’s press service.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that the hard landing of the helicopter took place near the village of Ilsky during field irrigation. “A series of necessary investigative measures have been organized to clarify all the circumstances and reasons of the incident,” said Elena Markovskaya, a representative of the Moscow Interregional Transport Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee, to TASS.
According to preliminary information from emergency services, a technical malfunction could have caused the accident.
