There is No Question of Granting a Corridor to Azerbaijan through Syunik Province, Says MP
We need to unblock the roads, but in a way that does not disregard the interests of Armenia, and this interest implies that Azerbaijanis cannot have a corridor through the territory of Meghri. This was stated today, April 16, during a conversation with journalists in the parliament by MP Armen Khachatryan from the 'My Step' faction.
“It is obvious that the issue of unblocking the roads is of utmost importance for Armenia, and it is also clear that we will feel significant changes in theory and have new perspectives after the unblocking of the roads. However, the perceptions that Aliyev has regarding unblocking are largely unacceptable for us. You probably mention the question of providing some corridor through Syunik Province; I believe there is no such question and there cannot be a provision of such a corridor to Azerbaijan through Syunik Province. If Aliyev were to unblock the roads, there are numerous routes that can be unblocked to ensure the connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan—not through some corridor in Syunik Province. Such a question cannot exist. Of course, this is a dream of Aliyev and Erdogan, which will remain just a dream,” said the My Step MP.
